For fixed width format, the total header record length is 1250 bytes. For Excel/text tab delimited format, the total header record length is eight columns.

Information: All fields in the header record are required.

Excel Column	Field Name	Characters	Bytes	Format	Description
A	Record Type	2	01-02	Alphanumeric	Type of report. A3 = Enrollment data P3 = Advanced registration data
B	School Code	6	03-08	Number	Department of Education FICE code (OPEID)
C	Branch Code	2	09-10	Number	School branch code suffix. 00 if none.
D	Academic Term	15	11-25	Alphanumeric	Your institution’s name for the academic term you’re reporting (e.g. Fall 2023, 1st Quarter 2024, or 1st Semester 2024).
E	Standard Report Flag	1	26	Y/N	Whether the report is a standard report. Y = Standard report with no special handling N = Non-standard report (e.g. early registration, summer term, graduates only, or advanced registration)
F	Certification Date	8	27-34	Date (YYYYMMDD)	Date your institution certified the enrollment data.
G	Reporting Level	1	35	Letter	Level of report. F = Full reporting A = Add records (advanced registration only)
H	Filler	1215	36-1250	Alphanumeric	Blank in Excel; filled with spaces in fixed width format.
