Updated PDP Gateway Dashboard & Other PDP Reminders

The National Student Clearinghouse is excited to announce the release of our redesigned First Year Gateway Course Completion Dashboard (the Gateway Dashboard) for the Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP). The redesigned Gateway Dashboard is now available to all participating PDP institutions and educational organizations.

As a reminder, the Gateway Dashboard shows how many students have successfully completed their required math or English gateway courses in their first academic year. This dashboard can help you determine, assess, and address any gaps in gateway course completion, a critical leading indicator of on-time credential completion.

To help better identify completion gaps, the PDP team improved two dashboard attributes:

  1. Functionality: There are now separate English and math gateway filters for both the requirement and completion of the course(s). This allows users to independently examine success in these content areas, whereas previously the requirements and completions of each were coupled.
  2. Look and feel: The dashboard now has a scrollable vertical style, as well as combined visualizations to make doing comparisons easier.

PDP users can log on here and use the redesigned Gateway Dashboard (click the “Log In” button under “Log In To Your Dashboards”). A guide for using the dashboard is available on the PDP Knowledge Base.

In addition, we wanted to provide you with the following reminders for PDP.

Effective Dates

The first of the four 2022-23 effective dates passed on September 30, 2022. The other effective dates are:

  1. November 18, 2022
  2. March 3, 2023
  3. June 23, 2023

If you submitted and certified your data before September 30, the Clearinghouse will provide your updated dashboards and analysis-ready files within 30 days of the effective date. If you certified your data after the effective date or have yet to do so, we will provide your updated dashboards and analysis-ready files within 30 days of your certification date.

Most Recent Year Update

The submission of the spring and summer 2022 data during the fall 2022 submission window will complete the 2021-22 academic year data. Therefore, for many dashboards the most recent cohort year will be updated, and the oldest cohort year will be dropped.

Please note, for some dashboards, the most recent year will not be 2021-22 due to the nature of the data. For example, the Retention and Persistence dashboard displays first-to-second-year retention and persistence rates. Because retention and persistence data is not yet available for the 2021-22 cohort, the most recent year will be 2020-21.
