The National Student Clearinghouse is making changes to some Enrollment Reporting data fields (including adding grayed out, aka disabled, data fields) in preparation for an enhancement we are releasing later this year that will enable postsecondary institutions to report lived name and gender identity. The new “Lived Name” and “Gender Identity” fields will be OPTIONAL, so institutions can choose to populate them or leave them blank.
What Is Changing?
- “Gender” field will be renamed “Sex for Reporting”
- These additional fields will be added and visible, but disabled in Student Look-Up and Enrollment Reporting Error Resolution on the Web (ERW) on our secure site:
- Lived First Name
- Lived Middle Name
- Lived Last Name
- Gender Identity
- Previous First Name
What Action Does My School Need To Take?
Your school does not need to take any action. Watch for more information from the Clearinghouse, on our new lived name and gender identity reporting option including a confirmed release date.
