On October 8, 2026, Federal Student Aid (FSA) posted an update to its electronic announcement, General-26-49, to announce an extended deadline for institutions to submit 2026 reporting year student level report and program level report data. In its electronic announcement, the FSA included a link to a refreshed “List of Institutions That Previously Submitted FVT/GE Data,” which institutions should review to confirm the status of their required reporting submissions.
FSA has extended the deadline to complete FVT/GE reporting to January 15, 2027. FSA considers institutions to be delinquent if they did not submit their 2026 reporting year student and program level data by the October 1, 2026 deadline.
With the revised 2026 reporting year deadline extended to January 15, 2027, institutions have the same deadline to submit any unreported or underreported data for all three reporting years: 2024, 2025, and 2026.
We encourage institutions to complete reporting for all three FVT/GE cycles well in advance of the January 15, 2027, deadline. Doing so is a best practice that provides additional time to correct student- and program-level NSLDS reporting errors in a timely manner, address any unexpected issues, and confirm that all required submissions are complete by the deadline.
