An individual high school graduate can submit a verification request for their own diploma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Permissible purposes include that the individual has applied for employment, military service, a workforce or educational certification or credential, or ac\u00adceptance to an educational program of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-border-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-border-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"requesttype\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&gt; Choose the Request Type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After logging in, select \u201cHigh School Diploma\u201d from the verification types offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/vsrequestors\/wp-content\/uploads\/VSDip-SelectHSOption.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"aspect-ratio:2.6235521235521237;width:1359px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-hb-message is-style-note wp-block-paragraph\"><strong class=\"message-label\">Note:<\/strong> The options displayed to you reflect the services you selected. The \u201cHigh School Diploma\u201d verification option is only available to corporate users, individuals who are high school graduates, or contracted users who have a signed agreement that includes diploma verifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-border-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-border-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"info\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&gt; Enter the Individual\u2019s Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select the state where the individual received the diploma. Once the state is selected, enter the name or code of the high school. A dropdown list will display all possible matches in the state from which you can select the individual\u2019s high school. If a school does not appear on the list, it does not participate in DiplomaVerify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requestors can <a href=\"https:\/\/verify.studentclearinghouse.org\/school-list\/hsdv-participants.csv\">download a list of participating schools<\/a>, which is updated daily. For each school, the list shows the earliest year of data available, the most recent year of data available, and the school surcharge (if any) that will be charged to third-party requestors for confirmed verifications of diplomas issued by the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minimum information required to request a diploma verification is the individual\u2019s first name, last name, and date of birth. You also can include a middle name and\/or alternative name(s), but these elements are not required. You must also provide information on the end user requesting the verification (not required if you are requesting the verification for yourself).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A third-party corporate requestor must upload a signed copy of the student\u2019s consent in order to submit the request. Commercial requestors who have signed agreements with the Clearinghouse must obtain and store consent for every request, and produce it upon request by the Clearinghouse. If you are an individual requesting a verification of your own diploma, submitting the transaction indicates your consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/vsrequestors\/wp-content\/uploads\/HSDVstudentinfo.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.23353658536585367;width:383px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-border-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-border-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"review\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&gt; Review and Submit Order<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After you enter the required information, click \u201ccontinue\u201d to review your order and, if necessary, edit it. At this stage, you can add an optional reference ID to the order \u2014 a unique identifier you can use for transaction mapping \u2014 before submitting it. Becoming familiar with a few key differences between the services will help you understand your results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DiplomaVerify returns a binary response (\u201cConfirmed\u201d or \u201cUnable to Respond\u201d) as opposed to the degree details (e.g., degree title, degree level, and major) available through DegreeVerify.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DiplomaVerify returns the diploma award year (YYYY format) for the diploma award date, rather than a full date (YYYY-MM-DD).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Clearinghouse cannot return further details or perform research into the reasons for the response returned.
